Ever since 2nd grade I’ve known I wanted to be some kind of engineer but never really sure what kind, and with college I will need a declared major before I know it. Im very interested in technology and “gadgets” if you want to say that. Ideally I would work somewhere as part of a team to help create all sorts of new things.

I would love to be able to walk into best buy and be able to say that’s my T. V. or Laptop. I know i can’t create the whole thing like i want too, but I do want a constantly changing environment, where I am part of a hands on building team and not necessarily always behind a desk.

I guess I’m just looking for guidance from mechanical, electrical, software, computer, or really any type of engineer, or anyone who has been through this decision making process. Thank you so much! i will however buy hardware if i have to (eithernet cable, LAN cable, or what ever) And please tell me it can be done with a cable and software. if not than WHY NOT? because apparently lots and lots of people have wanted to do this and i see lots of people get snubbed with a quick NO. but you would think with all the programmers somebody would like the “get rich quick” scheme of selling such a high demand product i dont wanna learn linux or unix just to ad sum ram, storage space and a Lil processor power to my laptop being used as a decktop.

my laptop never leaves the desk next to my pc. i only bought it from my buddy cuz it was a brand new laptop for $80 (probably stolen but who could pass up that deal) i want to allow my laptop to use my PCs processor, hard disc space & ram essentially creating a combined pc capable or more than what either is individually capable of. is this or anything like it possible? & if not can someone please start working on it. you’ll be rich if you copyright the program how can to combine my dell laptop with my dell pc? I’ve been recording with Mixcraft by Acoustica (fantastic software, in my opinion, although I have never used anything else.

) and a Logitech desk microphone. It picks up sound rather wonderfully. But.

There seems to be a slight lag in my recordings, I can’t imagine why. Any thoughts? I’m generally recording guitar or piano first, and then laying vocals on top.

When I record music of audio, my microphone lags; help please? My job makes me get to work 10-15 minutes early just to boot up my computer to punch into the time clock. It’s not like I am there just so I can start at a reasonable time.

I’m there to actually get the tools I use to perform my duties functional JUST to punch in to a time clock. I work for a logistics and teleservices company.

The main point is if you work at a coffee shop you don’t get there early to warm up the cappuccino machine. If you work at UPS and drive a truck you don’t get to work early to change a flat tire to start your pay.

Is it legal for my job to tell me I’m late when I’m sitting at my desk FIVE minutes before I’m supposed to be there? Then the computer takes EIGHT minutes to turn on, not to mention the amount of time it takes to load the software, connect it to the server and punch-in via this software.

I live in North Carolina. I worked for a place called ClientLogic, now SiTEL.

They had a similar incident and had to add punch clocks at the corner of every station due to this AND pay you wages for the time you spent booting up your computer in the past you hadn’t been paid. I just can’t find the statute and subset of the labor laws that represent this situation.

If someone could advise what statue/subset of the labor laws to review that would be helpful thanks. Is this legal per labor laws? I have connected every wire that exit from my case body(inside) to the motherboard(that include the wires which are there for connecting front USB).

but those USB ports in front of the case don’t work yet. I got the software from CD’s that came with the desk-copy of a few textbooks. But now, version 6.2.2 is available. I downloaded it for a 30-day trial.

Do you know if this version is available pro-bono from any source such as publishers of textbooks such as Elsevier? Also, if I create and save exams using the new version, it says I won’t be able to retrieve those exams from my older version..

I also cannot play from the hard drive. I keep getting and error message and the computer locks up for a few minutes.

The desk top comes back and everything else seems to work. I have run a malware program and gotten rid of two files but it still happens. I know there is something on my computer please help me get it off.
